The aim of this study is to investigate the adaptation two species cattail Typha australis Schum. and Thonn. laxmannii Lepech. based on analysis morphological anatomical features their vegetative generative organs soil pollution with potentially toxic elements (PTE) in riparian zones sea edge Don River delta (Southern Russia). Both are able accumulate high concentrations Ni, Zn, Cd, Pb can be used for phytoremediation polluted territories. pattern PTE accumulation hydrophytes has changed soils coastal areas from roots/rhizomes > inflorescences stems ≥ inflorescences. comparative showed a statistically significant effect environmental stress factor by type proliferation T. australis, was visually depressed, deformed state mass manifestations hypogenesis. These deformations should considered, one hand, as adaptive, but other, pathological changes structure spikes cattails. Light-optical electron microscopic studies have shown that degree nature ultrastructural cattails at same level different most expressed assimilation tissue leaves. However, these were destructive laxmannii, indicated prolonged technogenic impact PTE.
